In case you haven’t noticed, but I’m thinking you have noticed, TV has changed. So, I said to myself, “I’ve had enough TV stop watching that garbage.” I pray for that to be done.
I’ve tried watching the morning news, as I usually would and of course it’s bias against conservatives, but these days more bias and pro liberal. That’s discouraging to see. What’s worse are the commercials. In the evening I’d catch the evening news, same bad thing.
Post evening news shows, I’d try and find something to watch for an hour sometimes two, to be entertained and temporarily put the world on pause, but it has become intolerable.
Amid and as a result of the riotous clamor in the streets of America which began in the spring-summer of 2020, TV shows and commercials have changed.
A few times in the last few weeks, for the first times, I’ve seen TV commercials that are overtly, blatantly, showing men kissing men and women advocating homosexuality as well.
That’s where I’m getting off that TV bus.
In truth, a few months ago my conscience has become more aware of my need to spend time with God in Bible reading, prayer, meditation and doing the things that praise God.
To God be the thanks, the glory, the praise, for His patience in my neglect to seek Him out more. He is loving, generous, longsuffering and He’s my Father.
I admire my friends the family, Jack, Wendy and Kieran, for their example of living lives that revere God. They gave up TV decades ago and raised their child in a household without it. I’m blessed to have them for Christians friends.
If 100,000,000 Christians were to turn off the TV and reduce computer activity, then turn to God in Bible reading, prayer, meditation, that will honor God and maybe affect America for the good. Think about it.
Time is precious, time is once, reach for truth, reach for hope and read the Bible.
Romans 12:9-11 (NKJV) Behave Like a Christian
