I saw this movie Left Behind and was disappointed from start to finish. Left Behind left out so much.
I went for a popcorn refill when the mom talked with the daughter. So maybe I missed the key part of explaining the joy and sorrow of Christ coming in the clouds for His own. But that truth should have been repeated and hammered home for the hearts of unbelievers.
1.The script writing was weak in that it went out of it’s way not to tell and explain the truth found in the joy of Scripture. 1 Corinthians 15:52 … in the twinkling of an eye, … we shall be changed. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 … shall be caught up together … This is the Rapture or the violent taking away.
2.The poor choice of the Director to include “tight unbuttoned blouses” on the lead actress and the way too obviously sexy stewardess was unnecessarily distasteful for Christians.
3.The cheesy first class section of characters was blatantly over dramatic. Clearly this cross sections of misfits demonstrated the poor writing and directorial choices.
4.When the mega star of the movie see’s the Bible address John 3:16 (a golden moment for scripture to be read) there is blank stare on his empty face.
5.The hysteria portrayed “after the rapture” was severely overdone by completely missing another golden opportunity to show people on their knees crying out to God for His Son to save them.
The movie’s amateurish quality is a very poor attempt at telling the truth about going to heaven.
If this movie was intended to stir up conversations about the gospel of salvation – salvation from what? Hell was avoided.
Jesus was not mentioned as The Savior and the only Savior.
But there was misinformation coming from a man of a false religion saying something like ‘we are on different paths all going to the same place’. That is a lie and again the truth was deliberately avoided.
You would think that with the reach movies have and with the blessings of financial rewards on some, that a very good high quality real Christian film would be produced. Where is the desire and guts to do so?
