Folks, I couldn’t agree with you more. I love old Hymns with lyrics rich and full of Biblical doctrine.
Next to my Bible I have John MacArthur’s, Master Seminary book, Hymns Of Grace. I read, meditate and sing every or nearly every morning just before opening the Bible, thank God.
Unfortunately more older people who love just that are dying off. Fortunately younger people albeit few of them agree with loving the older type Hymns.
Consequently it seems, the majority of younger people tend to gravitate toward what’s referred to as Contemporary so-called Christian songs. These songs are weak in doctrine.
So there is a problem as to finding lyrics that will interest and guide the young. They have weak theology, they don’t go to church and they have a high suicide rate.
So, until the Lord moves in a persuasive way to create their love for the older Hymns, songs and lyrics, we just can’t wait.
Writers can hopefully at best pray first and Lord willing try to create what may or may not draw them into a richer fully understanding of the Bible.
God only knows how much of the future here is left. Yet here we are doing all we can to help the young find Jesus, God willing.
