Planting Gospel Seeds of God’s Truth

Michael D. Rourke The Glory of His Name 0 0

Christians are farmers planting seeds of gospel truth. All we can do is plant and pray for a spiritual awakening and growth in others. Only God can produce a new born again heart that loves Him. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We labor in love with Christ in view. We see others as we once were, born with sin, spiritually ignorant,  rejecting Jesus, and on the broad road  (Matt. 7:13) that leads to hell.  We know that God wants none to perish and all to be saved through His Son Jesus. So we plant, pray and live each day His way hoping a few more will enter the narrow gate.

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The general revelation of God is seen in His creation. God speaks through what He has made.  All people can see His glory in the heavens and know there is a Creator. He speaks through His Holy Scriptures found only in the Bible. 2 Peter 1:21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

God speaks through those in the past and present who love Him sincerely. Ephesians 6:24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

The truth is all around. Clearly their is a Creator. Christians look for a place to speak up or guide a lost soul toward the truth pointing to Jesus. People are responsible for responding positively to God’s obvious presence or rejecting Him, it’s their choice. God alone gives His grace to believe and grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

It is God alone who waters the seed of the gospel message, sometimes through other Christians, books, radio, TV or internet. He alone gives His Son’s warmth and germinates biblical truth into growth from those seeds that He chooses to grow.

The immeasurable privilege to hear God’s truth is His to give to whomever He chooses and whenever He decides. In love we give the words of good news to others and pray.

How can we not be farmers planting truth, tending to the gift and privilege of casting seeds for which we are called and commanded to do? Matthew 13:3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow.”

If you have heard the words, “Jesus saves,” pray for more. John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Pray for God to give you His Light that saves and shatters a darkened heart, pray and believe. It’s your responsibility.
