Thinking God is a myth and earth is a graveyard, is as false as believing people are descendants of monkeys or creatures from outer space.
Opinions are plentiful. Misinformation is rampant. Fake news is blooming like an artificial flower floating on a sea of apathy.
Now and in days to come having an anchor of truth is more valuable than an armada of lies laced with gold.
We are not born as perfect people. Passed on by Adam and Eve, people all over the world are born with a sin nature in their heart. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We love our sins. Sin is anything we do that offends a perfect God, in thoughts, words or deeds. Saying “No” to a parent comes out naturally.
Consequently every child begins a life as a sinner and like all sinners they are headed for hell. Because of the sin nature we have a lifelong bent on sinning more or less, but still offending a perfect God. Matthew 5:48 “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
The Bible tells us in John 3:18 “he who does not believe is condemned already.” Babies are not born believing in God, Jesus Christ, the Savior from their hellish penalty of their sins.
Turning away from Jesus Christ at any age and not believing in Him as Savior and Lord, is a sin of omission. Salvation from hell is in Jesus alone. Choosing to say no to Jesus, you send yourself to hell.
The huge universal problem of sin has a remedy and it’s the same remedy for each person. We read in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
God loves humankind so much that He sent His Son to die a horrible death on the cross. By His grace He sent a Savior so people would be saved from the wrath of Holy God’s judgement. Guilty sinners will be guilty of rejecting Jesus and are therefore hell bound.
The Bible teaches us in John 3:19 “and this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light,” People love theie sin of rejecting help.
The problem of going to hell or not going is a matter of personal responsibility. Even on our best day, on our best behavior, with all of our good deeds, they are not good enough. God is perfect, His heaven is perfect and through believing in the perfection of Christ’s death and His resurrection we can please God. Receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life is to be heaven bound.
Hearing the word of truth found in the Bible, believing in your heart that Jesus is the only Savior, Who died on the cross paying for the penalties of your sins, you shall be saved. People must be willing to believe and receive the gift of God’s grace. God will change their doubting hearts into believing hearts. Begin by asking Jesus into your heart.
A changed life of obedience will be the initial evidence of a changed heart. God’s grace, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will lessen the power of our sin nature. He will increase a person’s love for Jesus and desire to follow Him closely in biblical truth. It is the command of God (Matthew 28:19-20) that we tell all. We pray some will come. We trust and obey.
Jesus said in John 4:35-36 “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.”
