People like their thoughts and they like their thoughts to be fed and led by others.
There is no shortage of information and data to support almost any position. Stacking up statistics and numbers to reinforce a particular opinion will certainly appeal to a certain segment of people. Those who are interested in supporting that particular slant of view will be backed up with comforting facts.
Correspondingly the opposite or contradictory slant of view will have equal support to encourage that certain segment of people with that particular persuasion of comfort to care for their suppositions.
Either of the opposing views will believe to a large extent that what they hold as their opinion is true. Some will express their outlooks with more fervor and others. Of course there would be alternative thoughts voiced on various sources of news outlets stirring the pot.
These talking heads with their talking points appear to be fodder for the airways at times. Whether they hold a conservative or liberal label, yacking heads seem to be some kind of temporary placebo massaging the listener’s attitude. Defining labels can be confusing, divisive but also supportive, as we all, to one degree or another are a talking head. I’m a conservative, I suppose on most issues, but each topic needs review, especially in a dialogue.
In searching for an allegiance to place your beliefs no matter how temporary or faithful they are, there comes from time to time moments of suspension, pulling back for recognizing life as it passes by.
Engaging your thoughts on a given subject can be rewarding, but in the end, what have you got? After all the hot air has run out what have you really got? Matthew 12:36 “But I say to you that for every idle word men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”
These times of noticing “age” are some of our greatest quiet times. Pausing to question our beliefs and purpose for life is of great worth.
At this point of contemplating the meaning of life there is nothing of greater value than considering God. After all what have you really got at the end of life without God? Nothing!
In questioning one’s purpose, identity and direction in life, how wonderful it is to take our focus off of our self and to keep in mind the view of our Creator.
Dwelling on our Maker and Provider is a blessing, a reflection sent from the abundance of the One. Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Creation is of God and for our benefit to see His presence and blessings which we all receive. Isaiah 55:10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
Our conscience informs our heart there is goodness pleasing to God and evil that displeases Him. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Proverbs 15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, but the words of the pure are pleasant.
God has spoken through His written word the Holy Bible. Isaiah 55:11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” 1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
What’s very evident in the world is the fact, things are changing for the worse and going that way fast. However, most people are not examining, musing, and meditating on their connection or focus on God. Job 33:14 For God may speak in one way, or another, Yet man does not perceive it.
Romans 3:10-12 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”
Therefore, when you do find yourself weighing up your worth and destination, and your thoughts trip into wondering about God, consider your views and opinions of God in sincerity.
James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Pondering on God is a great responsibility for every person to do. In truth it is God’s gift we should open. Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
