The Threshold – lyric

Michael D. Rourke The Glory of His Name 3 0

Volume One, Chapter 23 Stay To Learn, page 403-404 (1993)

By September, five months had passed since my last battle with marijuana. It was the first time in my life of not indulging in smoking pot or drinking booze for that long, I thanked God.

Circus of Sin

All I heard was discouraging words.

Where is love, the One I’m thinking of,

To rescue us from this circus,

Circus of Sin?

I’ve known and had some friends

Who say life is a holiday,

Credit cards, wheeling and dealing,

Lifetime of wishing and stealing.

Last night was the craziest sight,

I heard such discouraging words.

Poets were laughing and dying;

Virgins were laughing and crying.

Trumpet, I listen for the trumpet,

I’m waiting for my Lord

To rescue us out of this circus,

Out of the circus, this Circus of Sin.

Volume One, pages 420-421, The Threshold – lyric

The Threshold

Born on God’s earth, quickly babes grow

All of great worth, the plan of God flows.

Care for your soul, in God’s truth you’ll climb,

Step through your life on a path of time.

To The Threshold of Love, King Jesus at the gate,

To The Threshold of Love, Come celebrate, celebrate.

To The Threshold of Love.

Time’s doorway is a slow-fading breath.

A way seems right, but it leads to death.

Seek Father God with each passing light.

Truth in His Son stays forever bright.

And the world turns, the world turns

Good is misplaced, bad is embraced.

Still God calls all; to Jesus by grace.

To The Threshold of Love, King Jesus at the gate,

To The Threshold of Love, Come celebrate, celebrate.

To The Threshold of Love.

Your heart is drawn; to God give praise.

Receive the Lord; He will light your ways.

Holy Spirit, You’re leading me now.

Jesus is King, every knee shall bow.

“Also He has put eternity in their hearts” (Eccl. 3:11).

God changes lives one soul at a time. Now is the time to proclaim the gospel with power from on high.
